Stir cocktail ingredients over ice in a mixing glass. 2. Serve up in a cocktail glass. 3. Garnish with orange twist. Remarks: A little sweet but it will grow on you. It's a bourbon cocktail that you would be justified in describing as pleasantly drinkable. . . .

  • Apple Strudel & Brandy Cocktail

    PH factor: 9.0 Recipe (Serves Two) Ingredients: Cocktail o sugar o 1 cup apple cider o 2 cinnamon sticks broken o 3 ounces Hennessey VS cognac o 2 ounces Lazzaroni Amaretto o 2 ounces Blandy's 5 Year Malmsey Madeira o 2 ounces orgeat syrup o 1 ounce fresh lemon juice Garnish o 2 dried apple slices Method: 1. Moisten the rim of two large cocktail glasses and invert each into a shallow dish of sugar to coat the rims. 2. Combine cinnamon and cider in a saucepan and bring to a boil then turn off the heat and let cool. 4. When ready to mix drinks combine the cider and the rest of cocktail ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker and shake to chill. 5. Strain into the prepared glasses. 6. Garnish with dried apple slices. Remarks: This could certainly be called a dessert cocktail but one that should be enjoyed whenever your need for strudel arises. . . .

    PH factor: 9.0 Recipe Ingredients: Cocktail o 1 ounce Hennessy VS cognac o 1 ounce Sandeman Porto Tawny 20 Year Old o 1 espresso chilled o ½ ounce agave nectar o 1 whole egg Garnish o grated nutmeg Method: 1. Shake cocktail ingredients without ice. 2. Add ice and shake again to chill. 3. Double strain into a cocktail glass. 4. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg. Remarks: This tastes like a morning coffee should. As it has a whole egg in it could be argued that it tastes like your entire breakfast should. . . .

  • Cognac Coffee Flip Cocktail

    PH factor: 8.0 Recipe Ingredients: Cocktail o 1 ½ ounces Hennessey VS cognac o ½ ounce Kahlúa o ½ ounce Sandeman Porto Tawny 20 Year Old o 1 double espresso chilled o egg white Garnish o grated nutmeg Method: 1. Shake cocktail ingredients without ice. 2. Add ice and shake again to chill. 3. Double strain into a cocktail glass. 4. Garnish with grated nutmeg. Remarks: To make this a more interesting cocktail we made an addition to the original recipe. If you are a Kahlúa lover, you're welcome. . . .

Shake cocktail ingredients over ice. 2. Serve up in a large chilled cocktail glass. 3. Garnish with a sprinkle of grated nutmeg. Remarks: This is a good but not inspiring caffeinated cocktail. Given the heroic activity for which it was named, that's a disappointment. . . .

Stir over ice in a double Old Fashioned glass. 2. Garnish with orange twist. Remarks: Whether this is a cocktail with coffee, or a coffee cocktail we'll leave entirely up to you. . . .

Stir cocktail ingredients over ice in a mixing glass. 2. Serve up in martini glass. 3. Garnish with lemon twist. Remarks: Purists maintain that a martini is gin and vermouth only. Some say if it’s in a martini glass, it’s a martini. This tasty cocktail does little to settle the debate. . . .

    PH factor: 9.0 Recipe Ingredients: Cocktail o 2 ounces Chivas Regal scotch o 1 ounce Sandeman Porto Tawny 20 Year Old o ½ ounce Lillet Blanc o 1 dash Hella Orange bitters or to taste Method: 1. Stir cocktail ingredients over ice in a mixing glass. 2. Serve up in cocktail glass. Remarks: Tawny port defines the taste of this cocktail. It’s therefore sweet and a little oaky. Not too sweet but enough to make one think a citrus garnish might be nice. . . .

Shake cocktail ingredients over ice. 2. Serve up in a chilled cocktail glass. 3. Garnish with pineapple wedge (optional). Remarks: If you looked at this and said I bet this will taste fruity, you were right. Enjoy. . . .

Remarks: This cocktail is hard to classify except to say that it is tasty and light, goes down easy and leaves you asking for more as soon as you're finished. . . .
