Moisten the rim of a cocktail glass and invert it into a shallow dish containing a mixture of sugar and lemon zest to coat the rim of the glass. 2. Shake remaining cocktail ingredients over ice. 3. Serve up in the prepared glass. 4. Garnish with lemon peel. Remarks: Many recipes call for equal parts cognac and amaretto. We feel that a ratio of 2 to 1 makes for a more balanced cocktail. . . .

Shake cocktail ingredients without ice. 2. Add ice and shake again to chill. 3. Strain into a cocktail glass. 4. Garnish with nutmeg. Remarks: October 7, 1910. A date that will live in infamy. That was the date the Swiss banned Absinthe. That ban is fortunately over. So, if you're tired of the same after dinner drinks or if you want something other than eggnog to celebrate the upcoming, this might well be your answer. . . .
- When Ginger Gets Blue Cocktail
PH factor: 9.5 Recipe Ingredients: Cocktail o 6 large wild blueberries or 2 bar spoons of blueberry jam o 6 mint leaves o ½ teaspoon grated ginger o 1 ¼ ounce Finlandia vodka o ¼ ounce Pernod Absinthe Supérieure o 3 teaspoons lemon juice o 1 tablespoon Honey Syrup, see: Syrups etc. o 1 dash of almond extract or to taste o 2 ounces Fever-Tree Premium Ginger Beer Garnish o mint sprig Method: 1. Muddle ginger and berries or preserves with mint leaves in a cocktail shaker. 2. Add ice and remaining cocktail ingredients except soda and shake to chill. 3. Fine strain into an ice-filled Old Fashioned glass. 4. Top with ginger beer. 5. Garnish with a mint sprig. Remarks: When Ginger gets blue things can get a little complicated. We enjoyed it with both fruit and preserves. So, fruit in season, preserves when not. . . .

PH factor: 9.0 Recipe Ingredients: Cocktail o 1 ½ ounces Finlandia vodka o 1 ½ ounces Cointreau o 1 dash Plymouth Sloe Gin o 3 ounces fresh orange juice Garnish o orange peel o strawberry slices Method: 1. Pour spirits into an ice- filled collins glass. 2. Add orange juice and stir to combine. 3. Garnish with orange peel and strawberry slices. Remarks: This is a tasty way to overdose on Vitamin “C” and it's a great brunch or breakfast drink. One of these in the morning and you won’t have to be afraid that you will be catching a cold or much of anything else for the rest of the day. . . .

PH factor: 8.5 Recipe Ingredients: Cocktail o 2 ounces Mill Six Hemp, White Tea and Ginger Flavored vodka o 1 dash Hella Citrus bitters or to taste o 1 dash Hella Ginger bitters or to taste o 4 ounces Fever-Tree Premium Tonic Water Garnish o lemon or lime wheel Method: 1. Stir cocktail ingredients except tonic water over ice in a collins glass. 2. Top with tonic water. 3. Garnish with a lemon or lime wheel. Remarks: You may think that this is just another vodka tonic. However, Mill Six brings more to the table than most vodkas. Ordinarily we feel that the best vodka for a cocktail adds the least flavor of its own. While we wouldn't suggest you use Mill Six in a dry martini it does add fun and complexity to a vodka tonic. . . .

PH factor: 9.5 Recipe Ingredients: Cocktail o sugar o 5 blackberries o 1 ¾ ounces Grey Goose vodka o 1 ounce St. Germain liqueur o ¾ ounce fresh lemon juice Garnish o mint leaf Method: 1. Moisten the rim of a martini glass and invert it into a shallow dish of sugar to coat the rim. 2. Muddle blackberries in a cocktail shaker. 3. Add ice and remaining cocktail ingredients and shake to chill. 4. Fine strain into the prepared glass. 5. Garnish with a smacked mint leaf. Remarks: We used blackberries that had been steeping in powdered sugar for another purpose. We found the extra sweetness was not a problem at all. . . .
