The Fernet~Branca sees to that. . . .

    PH factor: 8.5 Recipe Ingredients: Cocktail o 2 ounces Lazzaroni Amaretto o 1 ounce fresh lemon juice o 1 egg white Garnish o 3 Tillen Farms Bada Bing cherries Method: 1. Shake cocktail ingredients without ice. 2. Add ice and shake again. 3. Fine strain into a Manhattan glass. 4. Garnish with cherries Remarks: One of the several amaretto sours we feature. This one is close to the original 1970s recipe. It can also be topped with a dash of Angostura bitters. As above, it's a tasty, sweet cocktail. . . .

  • Bourbon Street

    PH factor: 8.0 Recipe Ingredients: Cocktail o 1 ½ ounces Woodford Reserve bourbon o ½ ounce Lazzaroni Amaretto o 1 cup vanilla ice cream o 4 ounces cold strong coffee Garnish o whipped cream Method: 1. Blend cocktail ingredients with ice until they reach a milk- shake like consistency. 2. Serve up in a highball glass. 3. Garnish with whipped cream. Remarks: We added a little more bourbon than was called for the original recipe. We found that balanced the sweetness. At least that's our excuse for adding more bourbon. What's yours? . . .

  • Warm Springs Tea

    PH factor: 8.0 Recipe Ingredients: Cocktail o 1 ounce Lazzaroni Amaretto o 2 ounces sake o 4 ounces hot green tea o 1 sugar cube Garnish o 1 cinnamon stick Method: 1. Add the cocktail ingredients to a warmed cup and stir. 2. Garnish with cinnamon stick and serve. Remarks: The pairing of amaretto with green tea is interesting and one we think you will enjoy. . . .

  • Alabama Slammer

    PH factor: 9.0 Recipe Ingredients: Cocktail o ¾ ounce Finlandia vodka o ¾ ounce Lazzaroni Amaretto o ¾ ounce Plymouth Sloe Gin o ¾ ounce Southern Comfort o 2 ounces fresh orange juice Garnish o Tillen Farms Merry Maraschino cherry o orange wheel Method: 1. Shake cocktail ingredients over ice. 2. Serve over ice in a collins glass. 3. Garnish with orange wheel and cherry. Remarks: A classic for good reason. It’s pleasant though a little sweet. None of its many ingredients dominate. The question is not if, but when, you should enjoy this. While relaxing on a warm summer day might be one answer. . . .

    PH factor: 9.0 Recipe Ingredients: Cocktail o 2 ounces Chivas Regal Scotch o 1 splash Lazzaroni Amaretto o 1 splash blue Curaçao o ½ ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice o 1 teaspoon agave syrup Method: 1. Shake cocktail ingredients over ice. 2. Serve up in a cocktail glass. Remarks: "Double, double toil and trouble. Fire burn and cauldron bubble. Eye of newt and toe of frog, Wool of bat and tongue of dog. For a charm of powerful trouble, Like a hell-broth boil and bubble" –Macbeth Act 1v, Scene 1 Take one look at this cocktail and you will get the reference. Fortunately, it does taste better than it looks. . . .

    PH factor: 8.5 Recipe Ingredients: Cocktail o 1 ½ ounces Johnnie Walker Black Label scotch o ½ ounce Lazzaroni Amaretto o ½ ounce Drambuie Method: 1. Stir over ice in an Old Fashioned glass and serve. Remarks: Not exactly a rusty nail. The amaretto sees to that. It's also not the last time you will see us use scotch and Drambuie in a cocktail despite what the name might imply. . . .

Combine in an ice-filled Old Fashioned glass and stir briefly. 2. Garnish with the cherry. Remarks: Inspired by the BADA Bing! cocktail which we couldn't duplicate with our ingredients. So we got creative, used what we had and created this one. Ciao to you, big guy. . . .

    PH factor: 8.5 Recipe Ingredients: Cocktail o 1 ½ ounces 1800 Silver tequila o 1 ounce Lazzaroni Amaretto o ½ ounce Triple Sec o 1 ounce fresh lime juice o 1 tablespoon agave syrup o 1 dash Hella Orange bitters Method: 1. Shake cocktail ingredients over ice. 2. Serve up in a cocktail glass. Remarks: To offset the sweetness of the amaretto we reduced the Triple Sec found in the original recipe to the amount above. . . .

  • Asian Summer Martini

    PH factor: 10 Recipe Ingredients: Cocktail o sugar o 1 ½ ounces Grey Goose vodka o ½ ounce Lazzaroni Amaretto o ½ ounce Pierre Farrand Dry Curaçao o ½ ounce Simple Syrup, see: Syrups etc. o ¾ ounce fresh lime juice o 1 dash Hella Ginger bitters Garnish o star anise o 2 drops sesame oil Method: 1. Moisten the rim of a martini glass with lime juice and invert it into a shallow dish of sugar to coat the rim of the glass. 2. Shake remaining cocktail ingredients over ice. 3. Strain into the prepared glass. 4. Lightly grate a pod of star anise over the cocktail and drop the pod into the glass for a garnish. 5. Add two drops of sesame oil to complete the tableau. Remarks: Interesting. You'll smell sesame oil and taste Curaçao and lime. It is delicious on its own and very good with food. . . .

  • Eve’s Seduction

    PH factor: 9.0 Recipe Ingredients: Cocktail o 2 ounces Finlandia vodka o 1 ounce Boulard Calvados VSOP o ½ ounce Lazzaroni Amaretto o ½ ounce fresh lime juice o ½ ounce fresh lemon juice o ½ ounce Simple Syrup, see: Syrups etc. o champagne Garnish o apple peel Method: 1. Shake cocktail ingredients except champagne over ice. 2. Strain into a champagne flute. 3. Top with champagne. 4. Garnish with apple peel. Remarks: Sweet enough to seduce any Eve and yet strong enough to be the downfall of any Adam. Spiral an apple peel along the length of the flute for an appropriately serpentine effect. . . .

  • Ocean Breeze

    PH factor: 8.0 Recipe Ingredients: Cocktail o 1 ounce Flor de Caña Extra Seco rum o 1 ounce Lazzaroni Amaretto o ½ ounce blue Curaçao o ½ ounce pineapple juice o 3 ounces Fever-Tree Premium Club Soda Garnish o lime peel Method: 1. Shake cocktail ingredients except soda over ice. 2. Serve over ice in a collins glass. 3. Top with soda. 4. Garnish with lime peel. Remarks: No particular ocean's breeze. The pineapple says Pacific, but the amaretto says, “Not.” It's a calming cocktail rather like a warm afternoon breeze on an ocean front beach somewhere very nice. . . .
