Shagbark Sangaree

PH factor: 8.5

Ingredients:

Cocktail

o 2 ounces Madeira

o ½ ounce Simple Syrup

(see: Syrups etc.)

o ½ ounce fresh lemon juice

Garnish

o freshly grated nutmeg

Method:

1. Shake cocktail ingredients

over ice.

2. Serve up in a cocktail

glass.

3. Garnish with grated

nutmeg.

Comments:

A simple drink that dates back

to Thos. Jefferson who

apparently liked Madeira

with his Sangaree (lemonade).

Or, maybe it was the other way

around.
