Tennessee Rose Cocktail

Recipe

Ingredients:     

Cocktail

o 2 ounces Heaven’s Door

Straight Rye whiskey

o ½ ounce Crème de Cassis

o ½ ounce grapefruit juice

o ½ ounce Rose Petal Syrup,

see: Syrups etc.

o 1 dash Peychaud’s Bitters

or to taste

Garnish

o ½ grapefruit wheel

Method:

1. Stir cocktail ingredients over

ice in a mixing glass.

2. Strain into an ice-filled Old

Fashioned glass.

3. Garnish with ½ grapefruit

wheel.

Remarks:

All right, grapefruits aren’t the

easiest things to squeeze, and

you are not likely to find Rose

Petal syrup on the shelves of a

supermarket near you. You'll

will have to make it yourself,

see: Syrups etc. But, neither

task is all that difficult and if

you mix them with one of the

finest rye whiskeys Tennessee

has to offer, you'll have a drink

that's well worth the effort.
